Dear fellow woolgrower,

We are pleased to extend to you an invitation to our 27th Annual Ram Sale.

This will be on Thursday 9th of September 2010 at 1pm with inspection from 11.00am.  Landmark Pfitzner and Kleinig , Eudunda will be hosting the sale.  We intend to offer 36 rams.

Narcoota Rams 2010

Sire Information

All sires are plain bodied with white wool and good staple length.

The selection features 13 rams from Narcoota 7647 whose fleece of stylish, soft wool was on display last year.  This ram is a grandson of Mernowie 515.

The sale will include10 rams from a Gunallo ram purchased in 2008, which had bare breech characteristics and quality white wool.   Most of these have good width across the hips.

Narcoota 4365 progeny was the feature sire in 2007 sale with bare breech traits.  He was descended from Leahcim 292.  There are 5 rams on offer from this sire.

There are 2 rams available from Narcoota 7143 sire, which offers large framed rams with crimpy long stapled wool.

Narcoota 6119 is our largest sire with bare breech traits. There are 3 rams on offer from this sire.

The sale will also include for the first time rams bred from Panlatinga 184.  These are plain rams with soft white  wool.

Other information:

The ram details include a code indicating which rams have some bare skin under the tail. These rams were not mulesed.

Fleece weights of the 14month rams are not as reliable due to the age of the lambs and the shorter period between shearing.  However, I consider the figures to be a useful guide.

It is our aim to maintain wool quality; we expect to see an increase in staple length in our next generation of sheep and wether lambs that readily dress out at 24 kg.  When classing client’s ewe                                                                                      hogget’s I am finding less that need culling due to neck folds or                                                                                     body skin ripple.

We have enjoyed a successful lambing period and hope that you will benefit from plainer ewes producing lambs with good birth weights and improved survival.

We look forward to seeing you on the day.
