Locals support Narcoota Ram Sale
Narcoota Poll Merino Stud 25th Annual on-property Ram Sale on Thursday, 11th September was a success in the eyes of studmaster, Tim Grosser and Landmark Pfitzner & Kleinig, Eudunda who conducted the Auction. Glenn Keast (Landmark Riverton) was the auctioneer for the sale. Rams were well grown out and clients and onlookers were impressed with the long white crimpy wool on the plain bodied rams. This year, 35 Rams were on offer, with 29 being sold at an average of $586.00. Local buyer, Grantley and Sheryl Doecke purchased three rams, two of which were the highest priced rams at the sale. Lot 5 was a good wool cutter with wool testing at 18.4 micron and a comfort factor of 99.8% when tested in July. Other locals to support the sale included Malcolm Schutz who purchased 3 rams, including Lot 2 which has a high fleece weight and a good long staple of 20 micron wool. Owen Schutz purchased 2 rams, including Lot 3 a ram with soft white wool and a micron of 18.6. Geoff Schutz and Kym Nietschke also purchased rams. Regular buyers from further afield included Phil Sobey of Roonka Pastoral, Blanchetown who purchased seven rams, John Angus of Angaston purchased five and other clients with purchases from Kapunda, Brinkworth and Karoonda. After the sale there was a display of lambs that were not mulesed and ewes that were partially bare of wool growth in the crutch. Tim Grosser said that the family enjoy the support from buyers, agents and on-lookers and thank them for their support by taking an interest and attending.
Also at the sale were Tim & Lynn’s children Nikki & Daniel who take a keen interest in the sale.
